Position Summary: Dan Lok Ventures is looking for a dedicated, resourceful Investment Research Analyst to join our venture capital team. The Analyst will focus on source and evaluate new potential investment deals, perform analyses on the technological viability on these investment prospects, support due diligence process and report on our existing investment portfolio companies’ performance. Reporting to CEO and CFO, the ideal candidate is someone who is savvy about business valuation, understand software viability assessment and familiar with the startup company environment with excellent technical and personal skills to analyse business opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analysis of market and technology trends
• Research, identify, and source new deal flows
• Review deals and application submissions received from the Dan Lok Ventures Portal
• Conduct preliminary qualification calls with potential investment prospects
• Perform Phase I Due diligence on prospect investments including market research, competitive studies & SWAT analysis, review Company Business and financial modeling
• Prepare investment prospects’ assessment report and present to Senior Management & Funding provider for investment consideration
• Support and prepare necessary documentation for financial reporting and external audits with the Finance Team
• On-Going review and support for portfolio companies’ performance after investment
• Assist the investment team as needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science or Business preferred
• 1 – 2 years prior work experience preferably from Business Acquisitions or investment banking environment.
• Familiar with the Software and Technology industries or Emerging markets for Businesses that do not require physical distribution channels, either from work experience or personal interest
• Passionate about technology and digital innovation
• Experience with financing instruments and financial modeling
• Motivated self-starter with ability to work well in an unstructured environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a small team
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
