IoT / Cloud Software Engineer

Fusus is disrupting the public safety industry as the SaaS leader for smart communities. We enable our customers to fuse sensors and data from a variety of sources to dramatically enhance the safety of schools, venues, places of worship, and communities as a whole. We are looking for a Software Engineer to develop, deploy and maintain solutions that will affect thousands of devices on the field, either by running on the device firmware or in the cloud. Some of the responsibilities include designing and developing reliable services that will run on devices as containers or in the AWS cloud as microservices, debugging, getting feedback from our internal network support team as well as from customers and writing documentation. This role plays an integral part in our company’s product development process.

What You'll Do:

• Develop reliable, well-architected and flexible software that will run on embedded devices
• Develop easily deployable and maintainable, highly concurrent and cost-effective cloud solutions for data collection, real time notifications oriented towards device maintenance and data visualization
• Design end-to-end solutions that will include hardware/software device interactions, backend and frontend either as a standalone engineer or collaborating in a multi-team environment
• Contribute to the development and deployment of our internal fleet management system oriented either to new product development or to improve workflows
• Utilize and quickly adapt to a variety of programming languages and technologies that are used across the entire system
• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate development tasks

Who You Are:
-

• Proven work experience in software development using microservices and containers architectures
• Knowledge using services in AWS like Lambda, SQS, IoT, ECS, S3 and deploying services using Infrastructure-as-Code using AWS CDK
• Expertise in multiple programming languages like Python and Javascript (NodeJS)
• Experience developing REST APIs in multiple languages and multiple frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, Django and ExpressJS
• Experience with Linux distributions or Embedded Linux, and the desire to understand how computers work behind the curtains
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Solid scripting and automation knowledge
• Experience with Git and Gitflow process
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Charismatic and energetic self-starting personality
• Ability to collaborate with team members

Job Location:

This role will report out of Fusus Headquarters in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
