About the role
What you need to know:
  • You will work with and pro-actively assist the AIG EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Data Protection Officer (DPO) & General Insurance International Privacy Director, to which this position reports and other members of the Global Privacy Team, to:
  • Advise members of AIG Ireland business units and corporate functions excluding the Life & Retirement businesses (“L&R”) on AIG Privacy policies, standards and procedures to seek to ensure compliance with these requirements, and applicable laws and regulations; and develop, implement and maintain AIG’s Irish Operation (on behalf of AIG group) Privacy program, including review, development and maintenance of privacy procedures, processes and training.
  • With the AIG GDPR DPO partner with AIG service recipient entities and corporate function privacy professionals with privacy governance, compliance, and operational activities, in Ireland.
  • Drive the implementation of Privacy programs impacting Ireland and build effective relationships with global Privacy stakeholders and liaisons.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of AIG’s GDPR DPO structure, including responsibilities relating to individual data subject rights, regulatory and individual notifications, records of data processing activities, privacy notice review, and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • For each AIG service recipient ensure the implementation and maintenance of policies, standards, related team contact information, procedures, assessment processes and response plans through to completion.
  • Develop and review and ensure the consistent roll-out of privacy training program content for Ireland.
  • Manage the privacy aspects of the eDiscovery and other forensic investigations; responsible for the review and completion of the Global Compliance Risk Control Self-Assessment process for Ireland.
  • In collaboration with the other members of the Global Privacy Team, responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of Privacy Risk Incident (“PRI”) response plans for Ireland and managed third parties.
  • Manage the privacy aspect of the global marketing approval process for Ireland.
  • Review and ensure the appropriate assessment, supervision, and fulfilment of legal and compliance actions to be undertaken prior to new technology, cloud, and mobile app implementations with relevant stakeholder functions.
What we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience of providing advice and guidance to business units and corporate functions on Privacy program risks.
  • Current knowledge of laws and regulations impacting Ireland relating to Privacy compliance, governance, and operational risks, and suggest and own implementation of appropriate changes to existing policies, standards, and compliance programs for the countries you are aligned too.
  • Experience of partnering with key stakeholders, and other liaisons specific to this area.
  • Ability to contribute to the effectiveness of the development and implementation of ongoing monitoring of Privacy operations risk programs.
  • Experience of working in key related finance roles in large and complex organizations with complex systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering and used to working in tight timelines.
  • Comfortable dealing with, and explaining difficult concepts to, senior management team of AIG Ireland.
  • Able to work cohesively in a matrix structure with ability to mentor, coach and develop key staff.
