Our manufacturing client in Birmingham, AL is seeking an IT Infrastructure Support Engineer for this contract-hire opportunity. You will be responsible for deploying, supporting, and maintaining our client's IT Infrastructure resources while providing end-user support and excellent customer service across the company.

Responsibilities:

• Configuring, maintaining, and supporting desktop systems and computer peripherals.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain IT resources including network and server infrastructure ensuring security with an eye to provide excellent business

application user experience.

• Migrate and monitor infrastructure and applications from On-Premises to the cloud with appropriate controls optimizing app performance, cost, and security.
• Collaborate closely with the software development and other cross platform teams utilizing DevSecOps techniques for efficient deployment and maintenance of applications.
• Write and maintain scripts and standardize templates to automate resource provisioning and other routine cloud and other computer operations.
• Continuously learning and growing knowledge of emerging technologies, application integration, network infrastructure technologies and best practices.
• Database management and experience/expertise with SOL databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SOL server.
• Configure, maintaining and supporting voice IP systems.

Network switches and routers configuration and troubleshooting.

• Monitoring and troubleshooting SD-WAN connectivity issues.
• Ensure EDR (Tanium or Defender) installed everywhere or where it cannot be

installed asset is protected another way.

• Perform security assessment of 0365 environments (Email, Sharepoint, OneDrive, and Teams) and remediate according to best practices.
• Evaluate local admin rights and remove where not absolutely required.
• Ensure MFA is turned on everywhere it can be.
• Implement LAPS at organizations that do not utilize it to rotate password of default Administrator account.
• Confirm all firewalls are patched.

Ensure DDoS and IPS/IDS is in place and properly configured.

• Windows hardening - disable unneeded ports and services.
• Find and patch all machines to the highest patch level.Qualifications:
• Scripting knowledge to automate resource prov1s1on1ng and routine cloud/network operations.
• Exposure to managing and supporting virtualized server environments
• Understanding of systems administration processes.
• Understanding of Network debugging and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Participating in call support for user issues.
• Managing, resolving, and fulfilling support tickets.
• Procurement, configuration, maintaining and managing desktop computer equipment and software licensing.
• Procurement, configuration, maintaining and managing desktop network peripherals.
• Understanding of and maintaining authentication and authorization systems such as Microsoft Active Directory.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills (oral and written).

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline OR Associate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with related field experience.
