As a part of our Innovation Team, you will have the opportunity to define and implement next generation capabilities that transform the way our customers and associates interact with technology. The role will collaborate with multiple teams delivering solutions through agile scrum teams that enable more efficient operations that integrate to ultimately satisfy the overall departmental vision. Product Managers are accountable for real-time ‘high-touch’ business engagement for both strategic and tactical initiatives while ensuring our applications uptime and performance meets the operating need.

The product management organization is comprised of hardworking, motivated, and skilled team of professionals who deliver the highest possible work quality in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment. The ideal candidate is committed to working with our business partners, IT and Innovation Director to develop strategic plans for implementing solutions. Individuals in this role are comfortable with changes in workload and/or focus of work and modify actions to suit business needs. The candidate will also exemplify the highest degree of trust and integrity by continually upholding Burlington’s core values and professional standards.

Product Managers will have an in-depth understanding of agile methodologies and experience with managing product managers.

The majority of your day will be to:

• Govern the development of strategic roadmaps for products
• Provide oversight on stand-up calls to review the story boards and groom the backlog with business partners and the scrum team
• Ensure stories in the backlog are being well defined, groomed, prioritized and defined into sprints.
• Participate in demonstrations of products and software to demonstrate how solution applies to business processes and operations.
• Regular engagement with software vendors to gain an understanding of new functionality
• Ensure that Product Owners are signing off on sprint functionality prior production implementation

Education: Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree preferred

Licenses/Certification/Registration: Product Manager Certification desired

Experience:

• 3-5 years as Product Manager Experience
• Knowledge of multiple retail business disciplines
• Proven ability to manage multiple strategic product owners and continuously deliver key results
• Strong management expertise

Skills and Abilities:

• Relevant undergraduate BA, BS degree in IT or Business or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of retail IT experience; 5-10 years of professional experience
• End to end functional knowledge of operational processes and systems
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complicated and sometimes conflicting requirements and requests.
• Strong oral, written, and presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple ways to all levels of the organization
• Experience working with engineering development and ops teams to deliver and sustain applications
• Creative and flexible mindset to planning and problem-solving, ability to lean into the details while maintaining the “big picture”
