Job description
This position is full-time, non-exempt and is covered under the Saint Joseph County Employee Policy Manual. This position does not hold any supervisory responsibilities.
Through a process of analyzing problems and discovering solutions, the incumbent will assist Saint Joseph County employees with technology issues. Incumbent will assist with issues including, but not limited to, application and operating system support, network configuration, hardware support, and training and knowledge transfer. Reports to the Director of Information Technology for Saint Joseph County.
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Shift Times: Monday through Friday
Essential Functions:
Determine appropriate solutions to end users’ technical issues and escalate to senior staff as necessary.
Install, upgrade, manage, and decommission hardware and software solutions, including but not limited to PC equipment, peripherals, Microsoft products, VoIP, and mobile technologies such as Apple iOS devices.
Install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and decommission computer networks as appropriate. Understanding of networks and their most common protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) is a requirement.
Qualifications
University degree in computer science, technology, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for university degree. Knowledge and Experience At least two years’ demonstrable experience in end user support. End user support in a Windows/Active Directory environment required. At least two years’ demonstrable experience supporting computer software suites, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
