SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT systems are provided by a number of 3rd party IT vendors. The company has a preference to invest in and leverage outsourced IT services rather than building a large in-house IT function. Managing vendor performance is central to ensuring the successful delivery of IT services; including those suppliers that provide electronic processing or electronic storage of data.

The IT Vendor Manager role forms an integral part of the CIO team; responsible for driving vendor service excellence and support in the smooth delivery of IT services to our stakeholders. The role serves as the main resource within the team for managing operational relationships and performance of our external IT vendors. This is an exciting time for our client and they will reassess our IT Vendor Management framework and look to implement a centralised tool to support the same.

My client is continuing to further develop its IT Governance Framework with increased focus on vendor management, procurement and risk management amongst other areas. The IT Vendor Manager will ensure that IT frameworks and policies are continually enhanced to align with best practice and are applied to both vendors and IT operations

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage IT vendors in line with the IT Supplier Management Policy to ensure all stages of the vendor lifecycle are actively integrated.
• Complete all vendor management tasks for all vendors; assist with contract development, identify and measure performance metrics against SLAs etc.
• Manage all incidents and issues, drive problem management to identify and remove root cause to prevent re-occurrence.
• Enhance the IT Risk Management Framework by applying best industry practice.
• Where specific day-to-day vendor operations are managed by other internal resources, ensure that vendor management is conducted in line with the IT Supplier Management Policy.
• Lead the implementation of a centralised tool to streamline vendor management practices across our vendor management, legal, finance, compliance and risk teams.
• Any other ad hoc duties when required.

SUMMARY OF ROLE COMPETENCIES

• Understanding of regulatory requirements governing outsourcing
• Strong understanding of IT Vendor Management and IT Governance best practice

• Proven track record in striving for continuous improvement and driving efficiencies, whilst maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
