SUMMARY

Responsible for general housekeeping duties for Goodwill Store. Works under the direction of the Store Manager.

Special Considerations
May be required to work weekend, evening and holiday hours typical of the retail industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Vacuums carpets in retail store, processing area and office areas.

Wet mops and dry mops all hard surfaces in retail store, processing area, office areas, staff lounge and restroom facilities.

Empties trash receptacles.

Cuts up empty cardboard boxes and containers for disposal.

Dusts store display fixtures and shelves.

Cleans inside and outside of store windows.

Cleans restroom and staff lounge facilities. Replaces papers products and supplies, as necessary.

May be assigned special projects on an as needed basis.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

Protective eyewear must be worn at all times while preparing cleaning solution for floor cleaning machine and while dispensing fluid into the machine. Protective gloves (cloth/leather) and eyewear must be worn at all times while using push stick to propel material into trash compactor.
