Teamwork of Sales Engineer at VIVOTEK USA
As a team player, the Sales Engineer will work with Sales/BDM on the sales side. The Sales Engineer will work with the project manager to ensure our project is well-designed and the project information is well delivered. Will also work with the Marketing Department in preparing events. The team in the USA, as well as the presales engineer team in HQ (based in Taiwan) will be available to support you.
Job Description
VIVOTEK USA is looking for a Sales Engineer to help maintain and develop our business. This position will be based in San Jose office and support all the projects in assigned territories.
As a Sales Engineer, you will provide technical assistance and service focused on projects. You will be the technical expert of VIVOTEK products/solutions. Since there are various new products/solutions launched, you will learn something new each day. The Sales Engineer encompasses not only the technical capabilities, but the sales sense, including prioritizing projects from the business aspect. You will work with the Marketing team to prepare tradeshows and participate in tradeshows with Sales. When necessary, you will demo the concept for the customer, either remotely or in person.
Will update the major items of projects in the system for record. Coordinate feedback from customers, and update manager and product team on the findings.
This position is to cover all North America market and requires extensive traveling.
Responsibilities
- Handle technical inquiries from customers and project consultants
- Achieve optimal project solution by providing technical assistance and system level designs
- Customize products according to project specialization and customer demand
- Test engineering samples and give feedback for engineering department
- Onsite support of proof of concept, demonstration and engage in actual site surveys
- Assist integration of product into 3rd party systems
- Provide consultation for pre-purchase questions and design problems
- Technical seminars targeted at distributor’s engineers and integrators
- Hands on test and develop sales kit for latest products and technology
- Educate customers to better understand surveillance industry and fully utilize products’ value
Requirements
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience in the video surveillance industry
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or strong technical background in the CCTV network security industry preferred
- Working knowledge of IT (network), IP cameras, VMS and CCTV, or cloud solution associated technologies a plus
- Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong public speaking skills
- Must be persistent and pro-active
- Must have ability to multi-task and have strong time management skills
- Must have a responsible independent drive, and must be resourceful
- Must be able to work well in a team environment
- Ability to travel extensively
