Fineco Asset Management DAC (‘FAM’) is the Dublin based asset management subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. (“FinecoBank”). FinecoBank (“Fineco”) is a leading European bank with a 20 year history and a fully digital DNA with a branchless approach since the start. Fineco is one of the banks with the widest products range available. Fineco have developed a truly one-stop-solution which includes trading, investment and payment services. Fineco have developed a 100% proprietary platform for trading and investment which covers all customer needs from trading listed and OTC product to investment product such as mutual funds and ETF. In addition to this we also offer banking and payment solution for domestic and international demand.

FAM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS Management Company and it currently has approximately €25 bn in assets under management. FAM is a competence centre specialised in the management of fund-of-funds and single strategy funds (both managed internally and also externally buy 19 of the world’s most renowned investment managers). In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally. FAM started with 5 employees and has grown rapidly over the past 3 years with a headcount currently sitting at 50 FTEs and growing quickly (half of our headcount was hired during the pandemic period).

Junior ESG Analyst

As part of FAM’s continued development of Responsible Investing, the opportunity has arisen as Junior ESG Analyst. As a Junior ESG Analyst, you will report to the CIO and be part of a team that supports all investment teams and concentrates on the formal and systematic methods of integrating ESG factors, sustainability research and stewardship across all asset classes and investment strategies.

Key responsibilities:

• Performing analysis of Sustainability Risk in existing and proposed investment funds.
• Assisting in completion of ESG Due Diligence oversight.
• Support stewardship activities, advancing systems to monitor voting and engagement alignment, active engagement practices and proxy voting guidelines.
• Contribute to thematic research to support the development and execution of ‘theme based’ ESG integration, stewardship and exclusion list management.
• Monitoring and oversight of Fineco’s Exclusion Policy and Procedures. Production of thematic and company level analysis.
• Assist in the customization of presentation materials, white papers, co-authoring original ESG research and case studies for every investment strategy across all asset classes.
• Conduct empirical research on sustainable investing industry trends, latest academic research and material ESG case studies.
• Keep abreast of responsible investing regulations and trends promoting best practices to appropriate investment teams.
• Conduct background research on ESG topics for position papers and investment proposals, substantiation pieces for internal/external stakeholders.
• Content development for surveys, investor queries and investment communications.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong interest in Sustainability
• Knowledge of the SFDR regulation
• Knowledge of ESG data providers
• Knowledge of investment analytical tools
• Interested in gaining experience in ESG research analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
