What can you expect:
The financial planning team are part of the Private Wealth business in Mercer. We provide holistic financial planning to individuals and members of corporate organisations for fee and/or commission. The advice ranges from pension planning for retirement to recommending suitable life assurance to choosing the most suitable ARF, annuity, savings or investment arrangement for their funds.
The role will involve providing detailed advice to individuals on their financial affairs. The holder will be responsible for generating new individual clients from our existing book of policyholders and building relationships with existing clients, including creating sales opportunities for protection, pension, investment and savings. It is an exciting role for an enthusiastic, recently qualified financial adviser with lots of opportunity for expansion.

We will rely on you to:
Responsibilities include:
- Advising individuals on all aspects of managing their wealth and related financial planning needs.
- Providing member facing supports to group pension scheme members such as presentations and one to ones.
- Generating new clients from existing policyholders and clients on Mercer agency.
- Generating new business opportunities from their client base and sourcing new individual clients from external channels.
- Meeting sales and revenue targets.
- Maintaining a detailed sales pipeline and regular reporting to team manager.
- Keeping accurate records of meetings and advice process, providing compliant advice based on Mercer procedures.
- Self-managing day-to-day workload.
- Working with team colleagues to optimise Mercer’s service and brand
- Assisting in the development of current and new financial planning services
- Supporting the team manager in responding to advice queries.
- Maintaining relevant qualifications through CPD and adhering to regulatory requirements in the provision of financial advice
What you will need to have:
- 3+ years’ customer facing experience relating to individual pensions, investments or life assurance; alternatively at least 6 months experience providing financial planning advice to individuals.
- Deep understanding of pensions, investment and protection advice techniques including relevant technical qualifications or knowledge (Minimum QFA)
- Deep understanding of financial products available to individuals and advice process
- Driven, opportunistic and commercially aware individual with an appetite for reaching sales goals.
- Outgoing personality with ability to network with colleagues, peers and prospects
- Organised and able to generate own new business.
- Consistently delivers excellent client service
- Clean driving licence
What makes you stand out:
- Minimum requirement is Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA)
- Other related qualifications also desirable e.g. RPA/SIA/CFP
- High level of investments and pensions technical knowledge
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint
