R. J. Corman Railroad serves all seven North American major railroads, many regional and short line railroads and dozens of industries having rail services include owning and operating eleven short lines, providing emergency rail services associated with derailments and natural disasters, switching, track construction, track material distribution, signal design/construction, building switching locomotives and operating a dinner train.
R. J. Corman Railroad is seeking a Junior Project Manager located in Nicholasville, KY.
Accountability: Assists in the management of multiple projects while providing support to multiple companies. Collaborates with IT department to produce new pieces or systems of software. Coordinates projects, schedules, track progress and report results. Performs clerical and administrative duties as required.
Responsibilities:
Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
Provide entry level project management and operational support to Contracted Services
Plan, execute, control, and close projects. This include organizing and assessing resources and coordinating schedules to ensure efficient use of resources
Effectively communicate project and training expectations to team members and stakeholders
Provide positive support and assistance to all field personnel, Contracted Services, and other management as necessary
Assess current administrative tools and current business activities to determine accuracy and areas for improvement, assist with automation
All other duties as necessary
Job Requirements:
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with Concur, Kronos, and/or AX preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Well-developed communication, organization, problem solving, and analytical skills. Ability to contribute to a cross-functional collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements: Limited lifting no greater than 30 lbs. Hand and finger dexterity for use of keyboard skills; ability to use a computer, phone, and general office equipment.
Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in an inside office environment.
Major or Unusual Problems: Must keep pace with growing needs and expectations of position.
Job Dimensions: Performs duties under limited supervision; handles significant volume of information and records and performs special projects as assigned by supervisor.
