Job description
The Kennel Technician is responsible for the care, cleaning and enclosure of animals at Pearland Canine Resource Center. The Kennel Technician also maintains the kennel environment by monitoring the temperature, noise and light levels to ensure the comfort of our animals.
The Kennel Technician is part of our training team and will work with the trainers on various aspects of dog trainig.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully pass an exam on dog behavior and grooming.
- Execute the duties of a kennel technician in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
- Be punctual; know how to work as part of a team; make good customer relations skills.
- Be able to take criticism and not take it personally.
- Communicate with owners and other staff members effectively.
- Be able to recognize the needs of dogs and their owners.
- Prepare an environment that promotes behavior, security, and a capacity for learning.
- Have good organization skills in order to prepare animal facilities for client visits; explain procedures to clients so that they can maximize their pet’s benefit from being at the facility.
- Documentation regarding the animals behavior, health, etc during their stay.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
