The East Union Community School District is seeking a full time kindergarten classroom teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Candidates must have a strong desire to create relationships, with the ultimate goal of positively impacting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

East Union Elementary is a TK-5 building with two sections of each grade level, home to 200 students. The facility is located in Afton, approximately 70 miles southwest of the Des Moines metropolitan area. This high-performing school is also a model school member of the Iowa Governor’s STEM Council’s Computer Science Network.

Requirements: Valid Iowa Teaching License

• Ability to analyze data for the purpose of instructional decision making
• Understanding of the Iowa Core and standards referenced grading
• Strong organizational skills, including the management of an effective classroom environment
