Position Summary:
This is a seasonal summer position designed to assist the Food Service Supervisor in preparing and serving nutritious meals and in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dishwashing area.

Essential Functions:
Assist in the daily operations of the camp food service operations.
Preparation of food as directed by the Food Service Supervisor.
Follow all safety guidelines put in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19
Understand and follow all health and safety regulations according to GSC, ACA, local and state regulations. This includes personal health and wellness and reporting any communicable condition that may occur.
Assist in the daily and routine care, maintenance, cleanliness and storage of supplies, food preparation and storage areas.
Prepare pack-outs as directed by the Food Service Supervisor and health code procedures.
Set up/clean up all areas for meals and all camps including: service line, lodge, salad bar, bathroom etc.
Set up food, supplies, and utensils for meals, snacks and special events.
Wash all dishes, supplies, and utensils according to regulated washing methods and temperatures.
Must comply with kitchen equipment age restrictions.

Qualifications & Education:
Minimum of 16 years of age.
Understanding of the Girl Scout Organization, National Program Portfolio and a willingness to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law.
Physical condition which enables the individual to accomplish job duties.
Meet certification requirements for the position as designated by the State, ACA and GSCC.
Previous experience in food service or in a culinary classroom preferred.
Willingness to live and sleep in a camp setting, work long hours while moving throughout the kitchen at a fast paced level. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying weather conditions.
Must hold a current Food Handlers Certification or become certified within 30 days of employment.
Must submit a current Health Examination prior to the first day of pre-camp.
