Job description
Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey is looking for energetic, fun, organized, and caring staff for the Summer 2023 Season!
Camp Jockey Hollow, a summer day camp located in Mendham, New Jersey, has 212 beautiful acres of land with pristine hiking trails, a large swimming pool, low ropes challenge course, zip lines, an equestrian center, archery range and more.
Kitchen Manager Responsibilities:
- Support camp administrative staff as needed
- Submit pre-camp shopping list to Business Manager
- Attend pre-camp training
- Purchase and organize food purchased for pre-camp and start of camp
- Keep inventory of food and supervise safe storage of all supplies in accordance with ACA and NJ DOH standards
- Collect cookout orders, check menus, and make shopping list weekly
- Purchase or order all food and beverages for cookouts and overnights
- Submit food orders to Food Distribution Company for delivery at camp
- Submit invoices for all food and beverage to Business Manager
- Plan, purchase, order, and distribute daily snacks
- Work with Health Supervisor to review weekly camper allergy list and provide alternate food for campers with allergies, if needed
- Organize and distribute lunch service meals
- Supervise and remain on premises until food is away and kitchen is clean on overnights
- Promote high camper and staff morale
- Perform other duties as assigned
Kitchen Manager Qualifications:
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Must be attentive and timely
- Regularly speak, read, write, interpret, and respond to words in the English language
- Experience performing administrative tasks strongly preferred
- Must be able to remain organized and communicate well with other staff and community partners
- Membership in GSUSA is required for the duration of contracted employment period
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
- First Aid and CPR certified or willingness to obtain prior to camp beginning
