The Abbey Hotel Roscommon is seeking full-time and part-time Kitchen Porters to join their excellent kitchen team!

In your role as Kitchen Porter, you will be part of the kitchen and food service team within the Hotel, reporting directly to the Sous and Head Chef. Working as part of the kitchen and food service team, the Kitchen Porter will assist in providing the highest standards of food hygiene within a customer focused environment. Experience in working in a catering environment is preferable, however, full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Key Duties (but are not limited to):

• To assist the catering team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in accordance with Food Hygiene Legislation

• Have responsibility for all cleaning duties within the food operation

• Follow a cleaning schedule and carry out tasks as directed by Senior Chefs

• Work to an agreed standard of hygiene practice as contained in the Kitchen HACCP manual

• To put all deliveries away and to ensure that they are transported to the appropriate storage equipment/area

• Operate equipment safely and to ensure it is in good working order

• Maintain all storage areas, whilst ensuring correct temperature, ventilation, and cleanliness.

• Help ensure that all food items are stored under the correct conditions according to food type

• Flexibility with working hours is essential within this role

• Other duties as requested by management.
