Role: Registered Nurse_Labor & Delivery (RN)
Location: Nyack, NY-10960
Position: Full Time + Benefits

Shift: Nights, 3 Days, 12 Hours
Sign on Bonus: ($10,000)

Summary:

~Provides direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural and needs of the patient and family.
~Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient’s condition or response to treatment.
~Basic PC skills. Able to work on smoke-free campus. Able to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

Essential Functions:

~Performs duties as assigned and requested. Completes a focused patient assessment with reassessments based on patients condition, procedures, medications given and treatments.
~Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
~Performs patient care and communicates effectively with all ethnic, cultural, and spiritual diversities.
~Performs age appropriate patient care and communication. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and the patient’s clinical condition.
~Follows the 6 rights of medication administration to reduce the potential for medication errors.
~Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills. Performs treatments and provides services to the level of licensure.
~Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors.
~Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Educates patient and family on disease process. Adheres to all infection control standards.

Require Required Education:

~Associate’s degree is required.
`Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Required License: Registered Nurse in NY is required.
Required Certification: BLS is required within 30 days of hire.
Other: 1 year of experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,735.59 - $110,817.81 per year
