Lab Assistant-Part time/Full time

CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment)
As a CLIA registered laboratory, ION Diagnostics compiles with the regulatory requirement and standards established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) agency of the Federal government.

ION Diagnostics is currently accredited to accept specimens from many U.S. states. We are currently applying to several more highly regulated states for additional accreditations.

Position Summary:

The Lab Assistant will assist any non-technical duties including specimen processing, accessioning, answer phones, faxing of reports, billing, shipping, and receiving, decontamination, and maintenance

Qualifications

· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

· Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Minimum 1 year laboratory experience

· Computer / keyboard skills

· Familiarity with Medical Terminology and medical processes

· Good Communication skills

· Experience as a Laboratory Assistant II recommended if appropriate to assigned department

· Experience using Word and Excel software

Responsibilities

· This role works in a high volume, production-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science

· Receive and sort clinical lab specimens

· Prepare specimens for testing and analysis

· Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information

· Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance

· Troubleshoot any specimen related issues

· Replenish test bench supplies as needed

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment

· Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested

· Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

  • Franklin, MI 48025: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Phlebotomy: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CNA (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
  • Medical Technologist (Preferred)
