- Field employees work to calibrate equipment, program and automate systems, and perform instrumentation and equipment work on client sites.
- Lab employees take samples that have been collected in the field and run a multitude of tests for environmental factors and quality of the product. We also have a blending lab that works to create the chemicals that other companies use to calibrate their analytical equipment.
- The Production Analytics team audits existing field structures and design, balances our client’s entire systems, and allocates royalties to maximize profits.

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician I must be team oriented, proactive, and goal driven. This position will perform a standard set of physical property testing, Gas Chromatography testing, chemical composition testing, sampling, sample receipt and data report generation functions. The associate participates in the on-call rotation for their specified lab.
Work Schedule:
This position will work 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, in the Houston, TX lab. This position is subject to overtime availability.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient at receiving samples and logging them into the computer system;
- Proficient at the use of computer software system to calculate and report data results;
- Clean laboratory glassware and equipment as needed;
- Assist with Statistical Quality Control testing, calibrations and preventative maintenance;
- Obtains a representative sample at various client locations such as tanks and gas pumps;
- Adheres to SPL safety policies;
- Assist with general housekeeping of the facility;
- Participates in the on-call rotation;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office suite to perform job functions;
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations including algebra and statistics;
- Ability to keep accurate records;
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats;
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form;
- Ability to work with chemical, petroleum and petrochemical products;
- Valid driver license and auto insurance.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or other science preferred.
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements:
This position does not require travel.

This position will work 8 hours, Monday – Friday in the Houston, TX laboratory. This position is subject to overtime availability.
