We’re looking for a full-time Land Specialist to help advance public works projects in Southeast Louisiana to construction through pre-planning and right of way acquisition.
The successful candidate will be part of a diverse right of way team that includes project managers, abstractors, certified planners, attorneys, land specialists, and GIS technicians, amongst other experts. Backed by 40+ years of experience, we’re a trusted partner to public agencies for a range of right of way services, including program management, permitting, right of way acquisition, relocation, land management, and GIS services. The position is based in the Greater New Orleans Area with the ability to work remotely. Travel to the Civix office in Metairie is required depending on project requirements as well as regular travel for project related meetings across the region, including the New Orleans and Baton Rouge metropolitan areas. Civix provides standard mileage reimbursable at annual IRS rate for project related travel.
Land Specialist Candidate Profile
An ideal candidate will embrace our mission and commitment to helping clients succeed. This position is responsible for supporting project managers in all aspects of a project life cycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience with permitting or regulatory compliance
• Ability to read a map and follow a legal description
• Experience conducting research with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to prepare accurate, detail-oriented work products while working on multiple assignments
• Understanding of working within parameters of client specifications which vary from project to project
• Strong organizational skills and desire to embrace Civix’s technology and tools for managing the land acquisition process

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of professional experience in a related field
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills and a strong work ethic
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
• Desire to grow in all disciplines within the right of way industry
• Ability to maintain daily timesheet with notes of services provided
