IPG Photonics is the leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance fiber lasers and amplifiers and is hiring a Technician to join our Pulsed Laser team in Oxford, MA! As a Technician on our Pulsed Laser team, you will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility while manufacturing complex laser processing systems. You will work with critical components such as optics and optical assemblies.

Duties:
- Assembly of precision optomechanical and optical sub-assemblies
- Inspection and serialization of incoming and outgoing optics.
- Testing of optical assemblies to ensure compliance with defined standards.
- Supplements Precision Assembly work center during periods of insufficient capacity
- Assists in the generation of new product or sub-assembly documentation and work instructions
- Provides feedback to engineering regarding errors or omissions in existing documentation
- Disposes of obsolete documentation when the job is complete
- Assists in the completion of ERP work order paperwork for proper processing and costing of jobs
Requirements:
- Technical school graduate or equivalent experience
- Interest in working with electronics and laser components
- Competent in the use of optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters.
- Craftsman skill level with assembly hand tools and light power tools
- Neat, accurate, and consistent work.
- Works well independently and assumes responsibility for own work
- Attention to detail and ability to retain communicated information
- Appropriate communication skills to convey information to other associates and supervisors.
- Understands when to request guidance from superiors and the proper chain of command.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22C.F.R. §120.15 are required. “US Person” includes US citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.
