Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. is a multi-office national law firm seeking Law Clerks (part time/full-time positions) to perform a variety of legal assignments primarily in the area of General Litigation. If possible, Law Clerks attend depositions, settlement meetings and discovery conferences, meet presiding judges and interact with clients in our Mississippi office.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively compose various legal documents including but not limited to pleadings, discovery, subpoenas and draft correspondence.
- Review and summarize records.
- Act as a liaison with experts and witnesses in scheduling/coordinating appearances and/or depositions along with documentation retrieval.
- Summarize discovery responses and draft standard discovery motions.
- Conduct preliminary legal research as necessary.
- Assists attorneys in preparing for depositions and trials.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- The successful candidates will be in law school or have a recent law degree of ABA approved law school.
- Superior written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with court personnel, attorneys and their staff, clients, and witnesses.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage time and multitask effectively; display problem-solving skills by developing methods or approaches to getting the work done.
- Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems) and spreadsheets.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
