We are on the lookout for a Lead ADAS Test Verification & Validation Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Job Duties:
  • As a Lead ADAS Test Verification & Validation Engineer, the job duties include being highly experienced and responsible for the creation of Vehicle Validation Plans, Vehicle System DVP&Rs design, test procedures, and support development of subsystem test procedures, including responsibilities such as:
  • Leading a small team that is responsible for all ADAS validation activities for all Nikola vehicles; Leading regular Vehicle Integration reviews with the broader team to develop and achieve all vehicle targets
  • Developing and executing testing and validation plan of the Vehicle with documentation via Vehicle Testing Plans and specific Design Verification Plan and Reports (DVP&Rs)
  • Providing instructions and guidance to technicians and fellow test engineers A
  • Analyzing large datasets utilizing data science tools and processes
  • Coordinating with suppliers and external testing facilities to organize and execute testing
  • Correlating testing data with vehicle & system-level requirements ensuring our ADAS meets specific targets and acceptance criteria
  • Meeting all performance, cost, and timing objectives


  • The position is responsible for the development of Nikola's advanced safety and comfort

features.

  • This position supervises 2 to 4 Senior Verification & Validation Engineers and manages the process to work with functional engineering groups.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree or higher in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline, or the foreign educational equivalent thereof, and minimum of 24 months of work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation involving design, development or testing in the automotive industry or related industry.
  • Minimum experience must include:
    • experience in leading ADAS sensors integration activities on prototype vehicles
    • experience utilizing automated driving sensors (cameras, lidars, radars and ultrasonic)
    • experience utilizing automotive electrical/electronic architectures, computers, vehicle networking and communication protocols
    • experience creating and executing end-to-end validation plans for ADAS/AD System features (LKAS, AEBS, BS, TSI and HBA)
    • experience working with typical automotive interfaces (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
    • experience working with typical data logging equipment
    • experience working with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Failure Mode Analysis
  • Limited domestic and international travel to supplier sites and testing facilities (less than 15% of total time).
