Position Summary:

Lead Bakers are essential to the success of our Central Kitchen and Delis. This position will organize baking staff tasks and production efficiently to ensure accurate volume and an outstanding finished product, with the highest level of food safety. They assist in training, directing and coaching staff, while fostering a positive workspace. Leads ensure that the kitchen is clean, stocked, and that our products and practices meet all food safety and general safety requirements.

Specific areas of accountability include customer service, supervision, baked goods production, packaging, menu planning, ordering, inventory, safety, and sanitation.

Qualifications:

  • High-volume baking, catering, and pastry production/finishing
  • Demonstrated understanding of food production and fundamental baking techniques
  • Team lead or supervisory experience in a food service environment, including staff direction, coaching, and training
  • Basic knife skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills including experience utilizing MSFT Office
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to show up each day ready to contribute to your team, store, and community
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrates a positive, adaptable, and flexible attitude with a strong commitment to being a team player

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience scratch baking with natural foods
  • Experience in recipe development
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Multilingual

Reports to: Kitchen Manager

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday: 4am -12pm. Shift times may vary and can include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours; flexibility required.

Essential Job Functions:

This position requires frequent standing as well as walking, squatting, bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, fine motor manipulation, lifting of up to 50lbs, and the ability to move around our kitchen and storage rooms with or without reasonable accommodation.
