Job Description
About the role:
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance supervisor role is a day role and:
- will provide leadership to an Engineering Technician Team for all maintenance activities associated with the P1 facility at TILGC.
- will ensure all team members comply with EHS procedures.
- will ensure that all team members work.
- will be can managing a small team and working with employees across other departments.
- maintenance tasks to support the team would be an expectation of this role.
How you will contribute:
- Guidance and development of a team of multi-experienced technicians.
- Work in close collaboration with the Engineering Planner to ensure planned and unplanned maintenance is completed to GMP standards and promptly.
- Encourage and participate in teamwork and integration within the Engineering Department, and work in close collaboration with, Production and Quality Depts. to ensure that site wide goals are achieved.
- Run training programme with the P2 Maintenance Supervisor for the team of multi-accomplished technicians, integrated into TILGC's training programme.
- Help with the coordination of the maintenance activities required during the sites annual summer shutdown.
- Support the sites AGILE (LEAN) programme and of the Maintenance metrics for the department, including practical assistance where applicable.
- Ensure appropriate spare parts are kept in stock.
- Promote and encourage teamwork within the Maintenance team and with other TILGC staff. Regular two-way communication is considered to be competency.
- Maintain discipline in the manufacturing area and ensure that plant operations are properly supervised at all times.
- Participate in at TILGC including problem identification, Just do it, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Agile Projects.

Environmental, Health & Safety
- Foster, in cooperation with other TILGC staff, an ethos and culture of safety awareness where safety is accepted as an necessary part of the business.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- Breach of EHS policy, procedure or regulation.
- Potential hazard which could have a serious impact on safety or result in serious injury.
- Ensure that Unplanned Event Forms are completed promptly after an event.
- Lead investigations into Safety events and use the TILGC Safety system "Beacon" to track and close safety events related to the P1 facility.
Quality Systems and GMP
- Notify the Maintenance Manager/Designee (or other appropriate responsible person) of any deviations from established procedures. Any abnormal occurrences or observations should also be reported.
- Produce documentation associated with their activities by cGMP, Health and Safety and Environmental regulations or management systems.
- Ask, if in doubt, about any practice or unusual finding.
- Assist the P1 Maintenance Engineer with investigations into Quality events which arise within the P1 facility.
Training
- Ensure that staff are well trained to safely manage their roles. Develop training for relevant personnel with a focus on direct operational and technical support personnel.
- Lead all training and assessment activities (internal and external) about themselves, contractors or other employees.
- Preparation and delivery of training materials where applicable.
- Ensure completion of all Standard Operating Procedures training and assessment tasks.
- Ensure that all training and assessment is promptly recorded for themselves and other relevant personnel observing TILGC procedures.
- Maintain their base. Keep up-to-date with all current trends and legislation.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in any training plans.
- Guide and promote the corporate values of Takeda-ism within the workplace.
- Foster, in cooperation with other TIL staff, an ethos and culture of safety awareness where safety is accepted as an necessary part of the business. Ensure that Accident Reports / Near Miss Forms are completed promptly after an event.
- Ensure completion of all SOP, reading, training and assessment.
- Lead the shift handover and ensure any larger issues are written up in detailed reports and sent to relevant personnel.
- Other tasks and directed by the relevant Manager or other SLT Members
What you bring to Takeda:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Have necessary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
- Good technical knowledge of process equipment.
Skills:
- Work as part of a team
- Excellent planning, scheduling and prioritisation ability
- Good technical knowledge of process equipment. apply a scientific approach.
