Position Details: Full-Time Day Shift St. Luke's Chesterfield Hospital Description:Under general supervision, responsible for all maintenance and improvements of outdoor facilities and grounds. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent
Assists in the daily inspection and maintenance of the outdoor facilities and grounds, including snow removal, and salting. 10%
Monitors and assists with daily clean up of all lawns, walkways, drives, parking lots, patios, drains, and emptying of trash containers within assigned areas. 10%
Maintains assigned area walkways and roads in a safe and passable condition at all times and free of debris or other droppings. 5%
Performs upkeep, tracks inventory, secures quotations, and makes recommendations for plant replacements and other outdoor maintenance and improvements. 5%
Daily completion of work requests to record accomplished work and supplies used. 5%
Maintain weekly work schedule assignments for all grounds team members. 5%
Maintain annual schedules for outdoor maintenance programs, such as fertilizing, seeding, Planting, outdoor pesticide spraying, and snow removal etc. 5%
Develops watering schedules and assists in assuring adherence to completing watering assignments. 5%
Operates machine tools such as hand tools, power tools, and other equipment (tractor, spreader, plow, and motor utility cart, etc.) 6.25%
Assures the proper materials, tools, and supplies are available to the grounds team members in order to perform all job responsibilities. 6.25%
Conducts visual assessments of equipment and maintenance including testing, lubricating, and cleaning machinery and reporting any equipment malfunctions, repairs or replaces defective items. 6.25%
Assists in the orientation and training of grounds team members by sharing knowledge and expertise in order to successfully complete and maintain all duties related to outdoor facilities and grounds. 6.25%
Follows infection control procedures including proper hand washing, trash/waste storage and disposal and wearing protective clothing and equipment when handling waste and chemical agents. 5%
Follows all safety procedures and protocol as dictated by St. Luke's policy, federal and state regulations and reports all hazardous conditions, defective equipment and accidents or incidents to the supervisor immediately. 5%
Performs supplemental mowing, trimming, and the edging of lawns during the growing season as determined as needed. 5%
Discusses and resolves differences constructively, shares concerns appropriately and directly with those involved and/or obtains direction from Supervisor, Manager, Assistant Director, and/or Director. 5%
Performs other work duties as assigned. 5%

Education:
1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Horticulture, or comparable, graduate is preferred.
Experience:
Horticulture, or comparable education and/or experience preferred. Clerical experience is preferred. Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions.
