My client is a Dublin start-up currently up and running and growing rapidly. They are a digital consumer platform used extensively across the UK, Ireland and the beyond. Their app allows businesses to get live analytics, maintain loyalty schemes, send push notification campaigns to customers and other tools while allowing consumers a range of very easy to use money saving applications. They’re looking to hire a passionate and inquisitive app developer to join their expanding team to build and scale their app.

The Job

You’ll build new features for their iOS and Android app from specs and designs. You’ll be core to every phase of the development life-cycle including planning, implementation, testing, and rollout. Work on system testing, diagnosing issues & bug testing their mobile apps while learning how everything works as an ecosystem.

You’ll develop APIs to support mobile functionality. Suggest/Implement new mobile features & protocols. Remain up to speed with concepts, toolkits & best practices for coding mobile apps.

You’ll write unit & UI tests to ensure a smooth experience for users and work with the commercial team to understand the needs of users to improve the app UX. Manage/ coach interns and graduate developers if needed.

Experience needed

3+ years hands on experience in designing, developing & debugging mobile applications and features. Bsc in Computer science or similar. Good experience developing consumer mobile apps that have been listed on the App Store/Play Store. Good hands on experience building apps with React Native.

Able to work with designers to create smart & seamless mobile UI and experiences. Familiarity with Android app development/ Java and/or Swift preferred but not required. Relational database skills- MySQL or other RDMS databases.

Great to have (but not ‘must haves’)

Experience of NFC technologies are a plus. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (or AWS), and TypeScript. Experience with test-driven development. NoSQL databases like GCP Firestore, AWS Dynamo DB or similar. REST API Design Principles.

Permanent role. Dublin based - but hybrid remote/ work form home work option available.
