Sentar is hiring a Lead Software Developer in Orlando, FL!

Role Description:

Responsible for technical leadership of day-to-day software development efforts for all facets of the NCRC RM. Provides planning, direction, and coordination of all software development efforts and has ultimate responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of software products. Works closely with the System Architect to design, build, test, and maintain the software components of architectures in a cost effective, reliable, scalable, evolvable, and maintainable manner. Synthesizes site event requirements into a comprehensive Event Baseline that is agile yet reliable. Supports design reviews. Applies software engineering methodologies and software development technologies across the system lifecycle. Continuously looks for opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software development and deployment processes. Maintains knowledge of current and emerging programming and design methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in computer science, or a focus in computer and information sciences, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant computer science topics.
• 10+ years of related, proven experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex software systems comprising dozens of software configuration items.
• Intermediate knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools and requirements management. Basic knowledge of Elastic Stack. Experience developing web applications using web development frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of programming language theory, operating systems, networking, and enterprise IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage).
• Expert knowledge of Python and C/C++ development.
• Intermediate knowledge of PowerShell and POSIX shell scripting.
• Basic knowledge of software-defined networking and network function virtualization (NFV).
• Intermediate knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
• Ability to effectively and accurately convey status and identify, assess, and communicate risks.
• Demonstrated ability to work within and lead teams.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree with a focus in computer science. 15+ years of related, proven experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex software systems comprising dozens of software configuration items.
• 5+ years of proven experience developing cyber range tools, including deployment automation, configuration automation, monitoring, and traffic generation.
• Familiarity with cyber range tools, including deployment automation, configuration automation, monitoring, and traffic generation.
• Expert knowledge of software development methodologies, including agile development.
• Experience leading sprint planning, backlog management, and release using agile tools and/or methodologies. Working knowledge of automated software testing tools.
• Expert knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools and requirements management.
• Expert knowledge of Elastic Stack. Expert knowledge of one or more web development frameworks.
• Intermediate knowledge of programming language theory, operating systems, networking, and enterprise IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage).
• Expert knowledge of PowerShell and POSIX shell scripting. Intermediate knowledge of software-defined networking and network function virtualization (NFV).
• Expert knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
• Direct experience using automated infrastructure configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
• Working knowledge of cyber testing or training.
• Experience building and/or maintaining complex enterprise infrastructures using various operating systems and services (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, VPN, email, databases, web servers, etc.).
• Working knowledge of SQL and non-SQL databases.
• Familiarity with commercial cloud architectures, operations, and administration.
• Experience working Government programs with controlled engineering baselines.
• Experience balancing multiple competing/conflicting system design desiderata.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams sized consistent with the Contractor’s proposed effort.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to express technical ideas to senior decision makers.
