We are seeking a Lead Solar Installer, ideally fully qualified or apprentice electrical journeyman to join our team. This role will provide for qualified individuals, the opportunity to install best in class solar PV systems.

As a Lead Solar Installer, you will work closely with the customers while completing residential and small commercial solar installation projects. You will also guide, coordinate, and oversee other installers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The installation of roof-mounted solar systems, racking and solar array assembly: effectively work in a team to install and seal roof attachments, equipment racking supports and solar panels, as well as back-up power system;
  • Perform site survey activities with a team and independently;
  • Perform all construction tasks per manufacturer’s installation guidelines and review job installation plan;
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (DC and AC) in addition to installing raceways around residential applications include roofs, attics, walls;
  • Sealing all roof penetrations;
  • Trenching, concrete work and equipment assembly;
  • Energy Storage System installation;
  • Back-Up Generator Installations;
  • Prepare, load, and organize installation vehicles;
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
  • Project clean up;
  • Assist in tracking inventory for each project; and
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of solar or electrical installation experience
  • Valid California Driver’s license w/ clean DMV Report (no DUI’s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record;
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Extensive knowledge of residential electrical and structural systems, blueprints and spec sheets;
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen;
  • Desire to travel between job sites in company supplied vehicle;
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance required;
  • Ability to make multiple trips up and down a ladder, ability to lift, squat, deadlift, pull and carry 75+ lbs., ability to work at the ground level, kneeling, or bending; ability to kneel and stand repeatedly (lunges) and to crawl in dark, small spaces;
  • Excellent customer service skills in addition to solid verbal and written communication skills;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 30 Certification;
  • Strong understanding of NEC codes with emphasis on residential PV installations;
  • Proficient in the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter applications;
  • Electrical Journeyman's License; and
  • NABCEP certification.

ENVIRONMENT

This position takes place in a construction environment in the field as well as in the office. This position involves hazardous work conditions requiring protective equipment and training that conforms to OSHA and applicable State Agency regulations. Some physical discomfort due to weather, dust, and noise may occur.

Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
