Redwood School offers programming, including Wilson Reading System, Woodin Math, and Writing Revolution, all designed with the unique needs of dyslexic K-8 students.
Redwood School is seeking a part-time Lead STEM/Social Science for SY 23-24 to join our team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, optimistic, collaborative, organized problem solver who also possesses a strong desire to learn, grow and develop themselves professionally.
1. Compensation: $100/hour
- 4-8 hours/week
- August 2023- May 2024

2. STEM Instructor Responsibilities
- Deliver STEM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods
- Use a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and assessments to guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning.
- Use technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration.
- Work directly with school administrators and staff in the development and implementation of STEM initiatives and curriculum.
- Adapt lessons for students with varying academic abilities
- Developing a positive, orderly learning environment which engages students and maximizes on-task behavior
- Develop positive rapport with students, staff, and families to help ensure a professional learning community.
- Collaborate with teachers to respond to individual student needs.
3. STEM Instructor Qualifications
- Passion for teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics
- Strong communication skills
- B.A in Education, endorsement or certification in science
- High energy level
- Takes initiative
- Deep understanding of NGSS and CCSS
- Evidence of productive experience with problem-based learning
- Loves working with students
- Deep understanding of student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated
- instruction
- Desire to continuously improve instruction
- Strong work ethic
- Reliable
- Collaborative
