Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Childcare Teacher to join our dynamic team. As the Lead Childcare Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our children while providing an enriching, culturally diverse learning environment. In addition to supervising and guiding Associate Teachers, you will be responsible for implementing our curriculum, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and fostering strong relationships with both children and their families. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to assigned Associate Teachers in various areas, including curriculum planning, classroom decoration, snack preparation, and maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Implement engaging and culturally diverse activities to support child development.
- Participate in agency-sponsored training and attend local in-service workshops to meet professional growth requirements.
- Maintain familiarity with Title 22 and Title 5 state regulations and center policies, and ensure compliance with Desired Results and Environmental Rating Scale.
- Report any suspected child abuse or neglect to the Supervisor/Director and Child Abuse Hotline within 24 hours.
- Communicate with the Supervisor/Director regarding any special needs or issues of individual children.
- Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality to ensure a smooth program operation.
- Conduct formal individual conferences with parents, and communicate with parents on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a childcare setting, preferably in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with Title 22 and Title 5 state regulations and center policies
- Must have 105 hours of professional growth every 5 years for permit renewal
- Ability to maintain a clean, neat, and orderly environment
- Commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere for all children
