Are you an ambitious learning and development professional with a “can do” attitude and background in healthcare looking for a challenge? We are recruiting a Learning and Development Project Manager who is passionate about high standards in healthcare and has a track record in designing and coordinating programmes that empowers healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care. As a key member of LHP Skillnet’s small and dedicated team, you will be responsible for the quality monitoring of our current QQI level 5 programmes and lead on the development and expansion of existing and new programmes using both traditional and online/e-learning methodologies. A key element of the role is the redesign and successful revalidation of our flagship programme which leads to the Level 5 Major award in Healthcare Support 5M4339 as well as managing a number of sector specific workforce development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current and emerging training needs and trends in the private healthcare sector
  • Consult Network member companies and other stakeholders to ensure that training programmes are appropriate and relevant within a local and national context
  • Coordinate and evaluate high impact healthcare training programmes undertaken by our member companies
  • Identify opportunities for new training programmes and solutions in order to maintain and expand programme provision
  • Coordinate and manage workforce development and research projects including the redesign of the programme which leads to the Healthcare Support major award 5M4339 using an innovative and progressive approach
  • Prepare an application for revalidation QQI and lead the programme validation process
  • Use an innovative approach to enhance existing programmes and develop new programmes based on members’ and sector needs
  • Engage with external stakeholders and industry specialists as needed
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with LHP Skillnet colleagues, Network member companies, learners, tutors, QQI, the higher education institutes we collaborate with and a range of other stakeholders

The skills and experience you will need

  • Degree at Level 8 (minimum) on the NFQ in the healthcare or related area
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar level training/specialist role.
  • Experience of and a creative approach to designing and implementing training programmes.
  • Have worked in the healthcare sector
  • Knowledge of relevant HIQA standards and their impact on the training needs of our sector
  • Knowledge of the implementation QQI’s QA guidelines and programme validation policy and guidelines
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Quality and customer/learner service focus.
  • Able to work successfully in a team environment in person and with remote colleagues
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in training and development in the healthcare sector
  • Able to conduct training and learning needs analysis at individual, team and functional levels
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design and supporting technologies
  • Commitment and competence to stay abreast of current concepts and current best practice
  • Open-minded and flexible approach to work.
  • innovative and proactive approach in relation to planning and implementing work.
  • Proven ability to work on your own initiative and deliver on training/learning and development projects.
  • Excellent IT skills & knowledge of training tools/methodologies.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in eLearning

The Offer

This position is being offered on a full-time contract basis to end in December 2025 with salary depending on candidate skills and experience but expected to be in the region of €58,000. There is strong further career growth and development potential within LHP Skillnet with potential for the contract to be extended/the role to be made permanent subject to grant funding approval.

The LHP Skillnet office is in Dun Laoghaire and while the candidate may be primarily working from home, they must be available to attend the office occasionally
