The Mathematics and Economics Department of Bryant University invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Lecturer in Mathematics. This is a non-tenure track appointment with an opportunity for continual renewal. Applicants should be able to teach introductory mathematics and statistics courses, particularly to non-math majors. Participation in certain departmental and admissions-related events is expected. Remaining duties involve helping with student advising, program planning, and implementation. This position will take a leading role in the planning, implementation, and teaching of required math courses in the general education program.

Bryant is located in Smithfield, RI, and is 15 minutes northwest of Providence, RI, and one hour south of Boston, MA.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Expectations include a 4-4 teaching load (with the possibility of reduction for coordination or other administrative duties).
  • Providing service to the department and the university are also required.
Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in mathematics or statistics is required (PhD preferred).
  • Successful candidates must have potential for strong teaching and evidence of significant engagement with mathematics at the non-math major or general education level.
  • Regular attendance at assigned job site and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position.
