DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Statement:

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer or designee, acts as a liaison to local, state and federal legislators. Represents the organization at legislative and community events. Provides education on community needs to promote behavioral and integrated health concerns in the legislative arena. The Legislative and Community Liaison will assist GHS Senior Management with interfacing with legislators at all levels.

Statement of Tasks:

· Communicate with senior management team about all pending and proposed legislation that affect’s mental health/healthcare.

· Facilitate meetings with legislators, community leaders and appropriate GHS staff.

· Regularly inform senior management team of local, state, and federal grant/funding opportunities.

· Represent GHS at legislative and community events.

· Advise senior management team on legislative, funding issues.

• Compile and prepare reports as assigned;
• Develop and provide training and continuing education opportunities in areas of expertise;
• Develops community relationships and linkages to facilitate appropriate mental health, SUD, physical health and other health care referrals;
• Assist in development and implementation of outreach planning and strategy.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $65.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Flint, MI: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Public speaking: 1 year (Preferred)
