Post Summary:
We invite you to apply for the post of Library Assistant (50% of full-time) Readers’ Services Division (Hamilton Library). The position offers great scope for an individual to develop a wide range of library and other information-related skills.
The Readers’ Services Division supports the students and staff of the College, along with visiting researchers and the general public, to use the library’s resources and services.
The person appointed will join the team responsible for the provision of services to staff and students in the Hamilton Library and will report to the Hamilton Library Counter Supervisor. While all members of college may use the Hamilton Library, the core collection supports teaching, learning and research activities in the areas of Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Health Sciences and Systems Sciences.
The post requires an appreciation of Library users’ needs and behaviour, a demonstrated commitment to customer service, an eye for detail and an ability to seek innovative approaches to problems. The person appointed will need to be capable of the physical demands of handling and moving large numbers of books within the library buildings.

Hours of Post: Part-Time (0.5 FTE) of 35 hours
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Library Assistant Salary Scale (€24,477 - €40,256 per annum) pro-rated at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
