Position: Full-Time Funeral Director & Embalmer
Location: Seacoast of New Hampshire and Maine
Salary: $70k-$85k
About the role!
Atlas Family Funeral Homes is looking for a full-time funeral director and embalmer to join our team in the Seacoast area of NH and ME. The new hire will work directly under the managing funeral director. Responsibilities include helping with removals, making funeral arrangements, and leading funeral services for all religions and ethnicities.
We want someone who is professional in conduct and caring in nature. A good work ethic and ability to work with a team is a must. Night and weekend hours are required. In addition to typical funeral director responsibilities, the new hire will also be expected to do some minor maintenance and cleaning work and otherwise help ensure the funeral home is running smoothly.
One week of paid training and orientation will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and manage funeral services
- Meet with families to make funeral arrangements
- Engage, plan, and pre-arrange services
- Perform pick-ups, removals, and transportation as needed
- Maintain friendly relationships with local area churches, community centers, hospices, and hospitals
- General maintenance and cleaning of funeral home facilities
- Perform embalming services
- Other responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
- Valid Funeral Director and Embalmer License
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1+ years of experience in the funeral industry
- Valid U.S. driver’s license in good standing with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Professional attitude and willingness to work
- Excellent interpersonal and social skills

- Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
- Funeral directing: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
- Funeral Director License (Preferred)
