Lifeguards (FT or PT) Seasonal

The City of Biddeford’s Recreation Department is looking for lifeguards. Opportunities include both river (Rotary Park) and three ocean locations. We are searching for dedicated and responsible individuals to be part of the lifeguard service. Position Outline:Have current Lifeguard certification, First Aid and CPR with AED. We will train the right candidates in the environment they would be working in. Must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team, be self-motivated, effectively communicate with all levels of team members and citizens, extremely reliable, dependable and punctual.

Part and Full time work available; Season runs Mid- June – Labor Day. Starting wage is $16.50 per hour. Requires weekend and holiday work.

Assistant Head Lifeguard- (FT) Seasonal Ocean locations

The City of Biddeford is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Head Lifeguard ocean locations. Must have current lifeguard certificate, CPR/First Aid. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and with the public. Assist with supervision of lifeguard crew, scheduling, training and oversee operations when the head lifeguard is not on duty. Season runs Mid-June to Labor Day. Starting Wage is $18-$19.00 hour.

Head Lifeguard (FT) Seasonal Ocean Locations

The City of Biddeford’s Recreation Department has a great opportunity for a seasoned lifeguard with ocean experience. We are searching for a dedicated and responsible individual to manage the ocean lifeguard service. Individual will assist in the recruitment and hiring of lifeguards, responsible for supervision, training, testing, scheduling, oversight of three public beaches during operating hours, care and upkeep of equipment, prevention of accidents through enforcement of policies, rules and regulations related to beach use.

Position Outline:Have experience in working in ocean conditions have current Lifeguard certification, First Aid and CPR with AED, ability lead lifeguards in training in areas such as grid searches, active and passive victims, proper use of rescue equipment, ocean conditions, missing person. Must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team, be self-motivated, effectively communicate with all levels of employees and citizens, be well organized, extremely reliable, dependable and punctual. Able to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports, ability to lead by example. Season runs Mid- June – Labor Day.

Wage range is $19-$21.00 per hour, 40 plus hours per week. Requires weekend and holiday work.

Head Lifeguard (FT) Seasonal River Location

We are searching for a dedicated and responsible individual to manage the Rotary Park –Saco River beach lifeguard service. Individual will assist in the recruitment and hiring of lifeguards, responsible for supervision, training, testing, scheduling, oversight of the beach during operating hours, care and upkeep of equipment, prevention of accidents through enforcement of policies, rules and regulations related to beach use.

Position Outline:Have experience in working in open water preferred, have current Lifeguard certification, First Aid and CPR with AED, ability to lead lifeguards in training in areas such as grid searches, active and passive victims, proper use of rescue equipment, environmental conditions, missing person. Must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team, be self-motivated, effectively communicate with all levels of employees and citizens, be well organized, extremely reliable, dependable and punctual. Able to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports, ability to lead by example. Season runs Mid- June – Labor Day

Wage range is $19-$20.00 per hour, 40 plus hours per week. Requires weekend and holiday work.
