General Summary
The service line lead is a point person for coordination of their area of responsibility service line within Surgical Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works in conjunction with OR manager to support a successful service line.
- Serves as a liaison between physicians and OR staff/leadership.
- Audits and maintains preference cards for specialty.
- Participates in operational and capital budget planning.
- Works with surgical services educator to ensure educational needs are met concerning specialty. Teaches necessary skills to new employees and students.
- Liaison between Sterile Processing and specific service line.
- Presents a minimum of one in-service training to entire OR staff annually.
Job Qualifications
- Education
- No specific requirements
Work Experience- > 1 year experience in functions of the department, or similar department.
- Good working relationship with physicians and peers.
- Basic understanding of Epic, materials management functions, and preference cards.
Certification/License
- Certification in specialty, preferred.
- Completion of Preference Card Builder Class (Epic).
Mental/Physical Requirements
- Considerable mental concentration required. Lifting up to 35 lbs., turning activities and nearly constant walking required. Standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to infectious disease and hostile persons at times. Frequent exposure to communicable disease via blood and other body fluids. Minimal physical discomfort.
