Under the clinical direction and administrative supervision by the Behavioral Health Supervisor/Director of Behavioral Health, responsible for providing individual and group therapy, psychological/social service, and discharge planning function for the inpatient psychiatric unit.

Assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment planning for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Provide counseling and aftercare mental health services for patients as ordered by physicians.

Completes concurrent insurance reviews to ensure reimbursement.

Collaborates with the physicians for safe discharges.

Ensure proper services and education are in place to accomplish this goal.

May have to rotate in weekend coverage with both Emergency Departments for mental health evaluations on a limited basis.

Make referrals an appropriate combination of short-term and group therapy approaches to resolve or ameliorate symptomotology.

Completes required medical record documentation on a timely basis; and participates in the Quality Management Plan for the inpatient/outpatient services.

Completes necessary continuing education requirements to ensure credential is in good standing. Works in a team environment.

Master’s Degree in Social Work from Accredited Graduate Program

Strong organizational and communication skills are required.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to function in a collaborative environment.
