Position: Shipping Loader

Department: Shipping

Location: San Juan Bautista

Reports to: Shipping Supervisor

Summary: The shipping loader is responsible for the accurate loading of all trucks and in a timely matter.

Essential Functions Required:

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis.
• Must make sure that the truck inspection is done and the sheet is filled-in properly and entirely BEFORE you start loading.
• Make sure that the ICC restraint bar is positioned accordingly before they enter the trailer.
• Communicate with the driver on loading instructions.
• Must fill out any necessary information on pick ticket, which include s how many pallets, location, missing product and who authorized any subs or cuts.
• Fill out "staging" schematic where all pallet tags are entered.
• Must fill out trailer schematic for pallet positions
• Communicate to Manager or Expediter on any missing product
• Turn in paperwork accurately to dispatcher
• Wait for dispatcher to verify load.
• Must wait for next order before anything else.
• Must communicate safety and mechanical problems as they arise.
• Fill out daily forklift inspection reports
• Be able to follow instructions, procedures and company policies.
• Must be able to load 300 case an hour average (minimal)

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma required
• A minimum of one (I) year forklift operator experience

Work Environment

Work environment consists of regular exposure to a refrigerated food manufacturing facility with very cold temperatures (34-36 degrees F); routine exposure to the smell of chlorine, heavy machinery, forklift traffic and loud noises; occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions; regular exposure to an indoor, environmentally controlled business office; occasional exposure to an indoor, not environmentally controlled warehouse.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
