Full Time - 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
SUMMARY
The Loan Processing Specialist is responsible for processing all loan applications in compliance with bank lending policies; creating loan documentation for all new/renewed Consumer and Commercial Loans; ensures all files have the required pre-closing documents prior to processing, and will ensure that loan documents are accurately completed within the established time limits. The Loan Processing Specialist will support the Lending staff as needed to ensure a smooth work-flow from back office to frontline. This position will also help manage the pipe-line file to ensure only active files are listed; adheres to all company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Completes training for Consumer Real Estate Loan Early Disclosure Documentation Requirements and timeframes involved to prevent bank penalties.
- Completes training for Consumer Real Estate Loan Flood Determination Requirements to prevent penalties.
- Completes training for ordering appraisals and title commitments.
- Completes training for completing Settlement Statements.
- Completes training for Escrow disclosures, including initial cushion.
- Completes training for Consumer Real Estate Mortgage filings.
- Creates and provides new/renewed loan documentation to lenders for ALL loan types.
- Effectively interacts and supports the lending team and the Loan Processing team to improve accuracies and efficiencies; maintains knowledge on all loan products.
- Uploads loans into Horizon.
- Quick reviews after upload to Horizon for accuracy.
- Notifies Loan Servicing team of any external Automatic Transfer (Servicing will add to Horizon).
- Provides documents as needed to the Imaging Team.
- Participates in on-going training.
- Ensures Loan Documentation is completed accurately and within the established time limits.
- Prepares and drafts all amendments; prepares all consent letters; and obtains all required credit approvals.
- Prepares drafts for all ancillary documents and obtains required approval.
- Provides assistance in managing collateral for all bank loan portfolios.
- Documents all new loan requirements and recommends modifications to existing loans.
- Helps develop and implement best practices for loan document processing.
- Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one's own actions and conduct.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a credit or loan processing background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
- Registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry as a mortgage loan originator in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (the "SAFE Act").
- Basic experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas.
- Basic experience, knowledge and training in all lending activities and terminology.
- Basic knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate and consumer loan processing.
- Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
- Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; host computer system; word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
- Basic typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
- Basic math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
- Ability to deal with routine problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized situations.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
