About the Role: We are looking for a self-motivated Logistics Associate to join the Shipping and Receiving team. In this role, you will support all logistic functions including, shipping, receiving, warehouse distribution, and material handling; as well as support business needs at the Elk Creek warehouse. Standard hours for this 1st shift role are 7:00 am- 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday.

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities:
  • Develop productive relationships such as Inside Sales, Procurement, Planning, Quality, USE Export Team and other manufacturing support functions in order to support flow of product through the plant
  • Recognize workload and actively move to high demand areas within different functions of team on a daily basis
  • Utilize computer software systems such as E1, Precision, MES, and external systems as needed (i.e. Exostar)
  • Support manufacturing needs with the movement of materials to and from manufacturing both physically and systematically
  • Load and unload raw and finish product on to trailers and ocean containers
  • Obtain domestic and international freight quotes as needed
  • Identify and support improvement opportunities
  • Be able to cross train in all functions of Logistics (Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse/Material Handling, Elk Creek WH)
  • Practice, reinforce, and advocate the Gore culture
  • Be able to complete all required forklift training

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have experience OR be willing to learn how to operate a forklift, and all other material handling equipment in a process-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated computer system experience, and the ability to learn new systems as required by the business
  • Demonstrated clear and effective communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated Continuous Improvement mindset; willingness to support, initiate and drive change within a team environment
  • Excellent track record of attendance with flexibility to work the occasional overtime
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills are required, with a proven ability to anticipate, recognize, and analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence teammates and associates in other areas/functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple commitments in a fast-pace environment
  • Ability to consistently and repetitively lift up to 35 lbs; utilize material handling equipment and/or team lifting when >35 lbs to support the operation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with narrow aisle forklift
  • Experience with Precision, E1, MES, and Xtranet
  • Experience processing International shipments, CTPAT familiarity
