About the Role: We are looking for a self-motivated team player Logistics Associate to join the Core Tech Logistics team. In this role, it will be essential that this associate work closely with the manufacturing area, adjusting goals, and priorities to match changes in business needs, while actively supporting the material handling, shipping, receiving, and recycling needs of the facility. Standard hours for this role are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday.

This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare production materials and other freight for shipment, and manage material movement on the docks, including racks, carts, and supplies
  • Pull and stage raw materials and supplies for manufacturing, utilizing the narrow aisle and sit-down forklifts, along with all other material handling equipment
  • Transfer materials to appropriate storage locations in the warehouse and or manufacturing platform staging locations
  • Utilize bar code scanning for accurately tracking inventory, and develop competence in shipping software (Precision), E1, and the MES to perform the necessary transactions
  • Work in a temperature-controlled environment (50 degrees F), adhering to PPE, and procedural requirements
  • Receive inbound freight as needed utilizing proper material handling equipment to unload and receive in bound freight and bulk liquids
  • Provide material handling support to all manufacturing teams
  • Participate in creating and execution of training/cross-training plans within the team and across logistics teams in the cluster
  • Be responsible for personal development, including appropriate education and training
  • Understand and promote the Gore culture

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have experience or ability to learn how to operate a forklift, and all other material handling equipment in a process-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated computer system experience
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills are required
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated Continuous Improvement mindset- willingness to support, initiate and drive change within a team environment
  • Excellent track record of attendance in a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Flexibility, and the ability to adjust quickly to change, is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize the quality system to ensure that processes consistently deliver product that meet customer’s expectations, legal, and or regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence teammates and other associates
  • Proven ability to anticipate, recognize, and analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions
  • Ability to learn new systems as required by the business
  • Ability to work in a cold room environment (50 degrees F) for extended periods of time and be willing to work outside to receive bulk liquids deliveries in all weather conditions year-round; ability to bend and lift repetitively (<35 lbs), as required to support the operation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with narrow aisle forklift
  • Experience with Gore systems, Precision, MES and E1 a plus
  • Previous logistics experience working in receiving, shipping, and or warehouse
