Machine operators install, maintain, set-up and operate machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient operational manner. They must have a strong understanding of the machines thy work with. In-depth training may be required to prepare a Machine Operator for their daily duties. Machine Operators may work with mechanical or computer-operated equipment. They must be technically inclined and be able to properly utilize tools and machinery. As problems with machinery happen, Machine Operators must report issues in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Responsibilities: (Note other duties may be assigned.)
All Machine Operator Skill Levels
- Demonstrate the ability to adhere to and remain in compliance with all safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Read, understand, and work , schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, applicable Operator Method Sheet (OMS) documents, and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
- Work with a variety of materials to complete assigned tasks to meet production requirements.
- Operate various tools and equipment to assemble, test, handle, manipulate and move components, assemblies, and final product.
- Use measuring and testing devices as well as visual inspection to ensure the highest quality products and conformity to all prints, work instructions and Quality standards. With the goal of eliminating internal and external escapes.
- Maintain required records including but not limited to: Quality checklists, inputs into specified electronic systems and reporting of all line issues into the appropriate data collection systems in a timely manner.
- Assist in the installation, qualification, maintenance, and repair of machinery.
- Perform periodic checks on equipment and help identify problems as detected.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Preventative Maintenance on equipment.
- Perform necessary housekeeping and sanitation, pre and post operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple plant-wide equipment.
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Requires frequent physical lifting, bending, twisting, and repetitive shoulder/arm/hand/wrist/finger motions.
- Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
