Expectations
To excel in the role you should:
Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as CNC lathes and/or CNC machining centers (horizontal or vertical).
Set up, align and secure part holding devices.
Align and secure workpiece in a holding device, machine table or a chuck using fasteners and hand tools. Operating of a crane is often required when moving large/heavy components.
Set up and adjust cutting tools. Monitor machine and cutting tool operation to ensure proper function. Adjust speeds and feeds as necessary.
Read blueprints, set up sheets and part routings to get product specifications such as part dimensions and tolerances, set up instructions and sequence of operations.
To succeed in this role you will need
Vocational High School (Machining Technology) graduate or 3-5 years machining experience
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
