Position Summary:

Must have 3 years experience performing residential service panel upgrades!

Semper Solaris is looking for motivated Main Panel Upgrade Technician for our San Diego location. Under the general direction of the Construction Manager, the Main Panel Upgrade Technician performs a wide variety of operations duties. The ideal candidate will be motivated, dedicated, and a team player. In addition, the ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and a genuine care to his/her work craft.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Service electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customer's residential property
• Work with the Operations Manager and home owners to fulfill any necessary service panel upgrades to support our solar equipment
• Remove and replace service panel from wall under disconnect/reconnect time constraints from power companies
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
• Diagnose electrical errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
• Prepare materials for projects

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum 3 years' experience performing residential service panel upgrades or related tasks
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
• CA DIR Journeyman certified required
• Knowledge of solar industry and NEC code
• Ability to work independently and with minimal direction/oversight
• Strong attention to detail a must
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize work and work under sensitive time restraints
• Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
• Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

Pay Rate: $45-$50 DOE
