Metalex powered by UPG is looking to fill a Maintenance Mechanic position. There are opportunities for wage growth and career advancement. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Level 3

  • Lead 'best in class' behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policies.
  • Effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
  • Must follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs as assigned.
  • Assist maintenance personnel by performing a variety of duties as directed.
  • Detect, document, and report improper machine operation and faulty equipment.
  • Job typically requires 2 years of technical training and 5+ years experience or equivalent.
  • Detect, document, report and resolve equipment issues.
  • Understand mechanical and/or electrical schematics and offer design improvements necessary.
  • Can demonstrate competence and proficiency in standard mechanical or electrical tasks.
  • Ability in determining root cause for troubleshooting systems.
  • Support engineering in their projects by providing expert resource support.
  • Write up new PM procedures and administer these through our document control.
  • Set up preventative maintenance for machinery in designated areas as required.
  • Understand and comply with LOTO, HAZ Com, PPE, Confined Space, and all other Company, State, and Federal Safety programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on an infrequent basis.
  • Understanding of press operation.
  • Certified forklift operator.
  • Knowledge of company polices shop and safety rules.
  • Math, Verbal, and written communication in English, High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • HVAC and refrigerant systems a plus.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9000.
