Full-time position available with the Water Department, Wastewater Treatment Division located at 7300 Hawthorne Road
Salary Range: $26.10-$39.82/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

• Employees who hold the exact position title, have successfully completed their 6-month probationary period, and wish to be considered for a lateral transfer into the posted position, must contact the department directly. • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs electrical motors, motor controls, electrical switchgear, transformers and power substations, which have voltages ranging from 480 volts to 13,200 volts.
• Orders repair parts and when received, repairs the malfunctioning equipment.
• Works closely with Instrumentation and Control Technicians, Mechanics, and Contractors to perform repairs on a variety of electrical process and control systems.
• Successful candidate must have knowledge and experience with a wide range of test equipment and be proficient in working from and producing electrical drawings and schematics.

REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of progressively responsible experience performing routine and moderately complex electrical maintenance and repair work;OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies.May be required to possess a valid MO Class A, B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Preference given to applicants that are electricians with experience working with medium voltage, motor controls, and trained on VFD and DC controls. A Master Electrician license is highly desirable.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
