Management Accountant, SME Business, Donegal

Our client is an Irish owned SME. Within the business there is a focus on quality and “best practice” that has set them apart from competitors. The business is a competitive and results driven, achieving revenue and market share growth year on year. They wish to appoint an experienced Management Accountant to join their leadership team and take ownership of their Finance function.

Management Accountant (new position)

Reporting to the Company Directors, the role will involve:

• Preparation of a monthly package including P&L, Balance Sheet, with supporting reports
• Review KPIs with a specific focus on labour costs
• Liaise with auditors on statutory accounts at year-end
• Oversee tax compliance (CT, VAT, PAYE, Intrastat returns)
• Payroll preparation
• Take ownership of the annual budgeting process
• Ensuring effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with regulatory legislation for financial and tax reporting
• Oversee Banking & Cash Flow, Debtors, and Accounts Payable
• Provide Management Team and Board with key financial information to assist with decision making
• Ongoing development and review of accounting systems, controls, and processes

• Ongoing review of costs and expenses to increase profitability
• Identify and flag financial risks and opportunities to management on a timely basis

Candidate Profile

Role will suit a Qualified Accountant with a number of years' experience within a quality well run business or within a quality accountancy firm. Will suit a pro-active candidate who is comfortable interacting with the MD of a business. Candidate should have excellent IT and inter-personal skills and a pro-active “can do” attitude. Working experience within fast paced indigenous business would be a distinct advantage.
